Bex is an award winning, and nominated director and producer, with over 20 years experience working in the industry. Previously to directing, she script supervised on many highly acclaimed comedy series, such as PEEP SHOW, THE MIGHTY BOOSH, TWENTY TWELVE, BENIDORM, THE WRONG MANS, INSIDE No.9, as well as script suping in the UK and in the US on EPISODES.
She has also worked on many US shows when filming in the UK; including UGLY BETTY, 24 - LIVE ANOTHER DAY, and BATMAN - THE DARK KNIGHT, and feature films FOUR LIONS, BUNNY & THE BULL and filming in Costa Rica for the first PADDINGTON movie.
After writing and directing her debut short film MEETING DADDY selected for the Atlanta Film Festival. Bex directed on the multi-award winning series HORRIBLE HISTORIES,
HANK ZIPZER - THE WORLD'S GREATEST UNDERACHIEVER based on Henry Winkler 's books, where her final episode ‘First Date Dilemma’ received a Royal Television Award nomination in 2015. She then lead directed the acclaimed CBBC series
SO AWKWARD winning a Broadcast Award in 2016.
She has directed the BAFTA and Broadcast Award nominated teen drama THE ATHENA (SKY 1) produced by Bryncoed Productions, BUCKET (BBC4) starring Miriam Margolyes, and the E4 comedy drama GAP YEAR, written by Tom Basden, starring Tim Key, Robert Bathurst, and Daniel Rigby, filming in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
In 2019 she produced AND directed for the first time, working with Eggs Collective on the 3-part mini-series commissioned by BBC Arts SMILE LOVE, IT MIGHT NEVER HAPPEN
This was nominated for a Royal Television Society NW Award for Best Comedy.
She has also directed the first ever adaption of Enid Blyton's MALORY TOWERS, produced by King Bert & WildBrain for CBBC. Filming in Toronto for the studios, and the stunning landscape of Cornwall/Devon in the UK. It was selected as one of Broadcast's HOT PICKs at MipCom 2019, and became one of the biggest 'lockdown' comforts of 2020.
Over the last few years Bex has moved into more high-end drama. Directing the second season of the acclaimed ITV series MCDONALD & DODDS produced by Mammoth, starring Jason Watkins, Tala Gouveia, James Murray and Sharon Horgan. Season two of the acclaimed UKTV series WE HUNT TOGETHER produced by BBC Studios, for Alibi & Showtime, which has recently been aired on BBC1/BBC Iplayer. It stars Eve Myles, Babou Ceesay, Hermione Corfield, Colin Morgan, Nico Mirallegro, Dipo Ola, and Vicki Pepperdine. Written by Gaby Hull, exec produced by Philippa Collie-Cousins, Caroline Levy and Alexander Lamb, it has now aired in the UK, France, Australia, and the US. In 2023 she directed the finale block of the second season of Channel 4's comedy drama SCREW. Starring Nina Sosanya, Jamie-Lee O'Donnell, Laura Checkley, Ron Donachie, Stephen Wight and Faraz Ayub.
And most recently, she has completed filming on a dark thriller for Paramount+ details soon to be released.
